From Nuapatna, Odisha — Where Every Thread Has a Story
Nuapatna is one of Odisha's important handloom centres, with thousands of weaver households and a rich tradition of Ikat and Khandua weaving.
The art of weaving in Nuapatna is more than 800 years old and has a historic connection with the temple of Lord Jagannath at Puri. Some weavers have traditionally woven clothes for the temple, continuing a practice carried across generations.
Our Impact
Empowering Weavers Through Collective Action
With financial support of ₹49.16 Lakhs from NABARD, Odisha RO Bhubaneswar, a three-year project is being implemented through SHUVAM ART & CRAFT PRODUCER COMPANY LTD.
Under the project, an OFPO has been formed and 350 weavers have been enrolled, supporting the development and promotion of handloom products.
